Golf is a great activity to take up! Not only does golf tone and strengthen your upper body (swing), core (rotation) and legs (if you walk the course), it improves your balance and coordination. Walking the course also helps you burn unwanted body fat.

Teaching Principles : My teaching philosophy is to keep everything as simple and detailed as necessary to help you meet your own personal goals and expectations. This philosophy includes the usage of the Laws, Principles, and Preferences method. I believe it is important to keep in mind the Laws, which produce ball flight into your teaching system. I also believe that the recognition of individual differences between students and making successful adjustments to ea

Teaching Principles : My #1 goal in teaching the game has always been to get the student be able to advance the ball well enough to have fun playing the game of golf, using the same fundamentals all good teachers use, those being grip, aim, set-up & posture. I also try to make the student aware of what ball position means and the importance it plays in good ball striking, and I am and have always been an advocate of of controlling the swing with the target side of y

Teaching Principles : Ben Hogan said in his book "The Modern Fundamentals of Golf" that "the average golfer is entirely capable of buiding a repeating swing and breaking 80"; I agree with this. Teaching and learning about the swing, putting, and the short game is as much a hobby of mine as it is a profession. I have studied Newton's laws of Motion, especially the laws of Rotation, how people can perform their best from books by Timothy Galway "The Inner Game of Ten

Is Golf Better in a Group or One-On-One?

Q: I am interested in taking up golf or tennis this summer. Do you recommend group or private lessons? What are some of the things I should look for before enrolling in a program?

Golf is a great activity to take up! Not only does golf tone and strengthen your upper body (swing), core (rotation) and legs (if you walk the course), it improves your balance and coordination. Walking the course also helps you burn unwanted body fat.

Depending on your personality, either group and private lessons will work. If you are looking to meet new people in the sport, don't need one on one attention and are good at learning from others, a group would suit you best. On the other hand, if you have no idea what you are doing, really want to learn the basics with no distractions, a private lesson would be best for you. A lot of golf clubs also offer semi private lessons with one or two other people. This helps lessen the cost and you still get a lot off guided attention. Most instructors and clubs are accredited, but you can check out their credentials in your search. You can also ask for references of past clients to get first hand input on the instructor you are considering. Have fun!
