Breast Reduction Minus Sedation

Q: I want to get a breast reduction because I feel very uncomfortable with my size and as a result, my self-esteem is suffering. The problem is, I am terrified of being put under. Is there any way this can be done with local anesthesia?

Breast reduction is a surgical procedure involving the reduction in the size of breasts. It is often performed when women suffer from back or spine issues ased on the size of the breasts or for emotional,body-image issues.

Breast reduction is most commonly done under general anesthesia. There are cases where the surgery can be done with alternate modes of anesthesia. And studies show that breast reduction can be performed safely and comfortably under local anesthesia with intravenous sedation.

This is an issue you definitely want to talk to your doctor about.
